I also wondered if you could make it more transparent with some sort of solvent. Might be cool to go more clear.

Maybe a polish? God that's a lot of holes though. No I think if I wanted to go transparent then vacuum forming a new shell would be the way to go. The first iMacs weren't clear, after all.

That thing fell outta' the ugly tree hitting every branch on the way down and landing on its head. Given that, the resulting dented, rumpled bedspread lookin' translucent top might be employed to apply lipstick to that freakin' pig. Installation of a Pi controlled LED light show underneath might help?
