I've been looking for one of these displays for years. Today was my lucky day! This is a very rare Radius branded version of the SGI 1600SW. It's 1600x1024 and would normally have an OpenLDI connector. The person I got this from got it from a SGI engineer who made a custom DVI cable for it instead. There's very little information about these displays online, so if you know anything about them, please share. It seems like this would have been intended to pair with the B&W G3, but the OpenLDI connector would have required adapters or a special graphics card to do so. Did you use or see one of these in the wild back in the day? What was the setup like?

I went to power it up, but the AC adapter was dead. I cracked it open and found the capacitors were all out of spec so I've ordered some new ones. In case anyone in the future needs to recap this adapter, here's what's inside.

C22: 68uF 400v; 18mm Dia; 32mm L; 85*
C2 C13 C14: 470uF 16v; 8mm Dia; 21mm L; 105*

And since there aren't many nice photos of this display online, here's a quick photoshop cleanup of it.

Nice grab. I have the SGI version of this, with the Diamond card to run it out of a PC, but I've never seen the Radius version in the flesh. I'd love to find the SGI Multilink adapter - that doesn't cost a fortune - to use it on some other things.

The screen is just shopped in here. Will post real photos of the display when it's up and running.

Just a little follow up on this. I did end up recapping the AC adapter, but it was still dead and I wasn't sure what was wrong. I ended up getting a generic adapter with the same specs that worked fine. Here's the display running..

That is one very cool display. I have a good half dozen Radius (KDS) Displays in my collection, but nothing like this one! KDS had the rights to the Radius trademark, so I wonder how it wound up on a Mitsubishi product?

That's awesome! If you ever want to sell it let me know, I have a formac proformance III plus that would pair perfectly with it, I've been looking for years as well but haven't been lucky yet.

I had no idea these existed until one came up for free near me recently.

This one is the SGI variant though, which seems to have been simply a rebadge of the Radius Artica, thus coming full circle? :D

The front SGI badge is a sticker and you can see how they put a replacement SGI sticker over sticker on the back covering the Radius info.

I don't know for sure which came first, whether perhaps these were just extra stock SGI decided to sell themselves?

It certainly matches a Blue and White G3 very well!

Here using a SGI Multilink adapter converting to DVI connected to an ATI Radeon 9200LE.

Very nice find! Definitely looks like some stickers over the Radius badging. They were expensive displays so it makes sense they'd want to find a way to sell the excess inventory.
