Back in September .. This Dual PPC G5 Fired right up after 5years.
I discovered SorbetLeopard, had to try it out.

So, I pulled out this machine, Knocked the cobwebs off and..
Formatted an old Hitachi HDT721010SLA360:1TB from a time capsule .
Partitioned it and Installed Sorbet,.
And .. vWala!

Machine still runs great. Found a copy of Halo, and played for hours. 2000's Nostalgia !

Thanks the the Dev Team Of Sorbet

Thanks 3lectr1c ,

Molex Y Splitter on the DVD power connector

Definitely incorporating some LEDs into my G5s after seeing this. What sort of translucent vinyl did you use for the diffusing bit? It really comes off like the OG cathode bulbs. Looks fantastic :)

Awesome look! I recently did the same with my Dual G5. (Minus the LEDs, which I am definitely going to hunt down.)
I actually found that 10.4 with Shuriken was a faster experience than Sorbet, but I still would like to try Sorbet with a faster drive.
Using my G5 to run most of my games in one spot, with Classic and minivmac.

Nice rig (y)

Sorbet Leopard is excellent. Change over to a SSD and notice a big performance boost.

Ok, got around to doing mine. The led strip I bought came with the wrong tip (6.5mm barrel jack) so I cobbled together 12v& ground molex to a 4.5mm plug to power the strip and voila, it turned on. I split power from the optical drive. Being LED I thought the 3.3v would work but not enough juice.

Im pretty happy with how it looks although at extreme angles to the front, you can see the strip which is pretty bright. I see where the opaque tubing around the strip would be beneficial in diffusing this. All in I'm happy - cost me $6 bucks and some junk junkie bits.

That's a cool effect! May just have to do something like that to mine at some point.
