I recently acquired a Pismo, it's my first non-68k machine in my collection., I just figured I'd post a couple photos of it. The guy it came from used it for photo editing so I think it was very seldom moved around, so it was spared the normal damage from being banged around. It's a G3 400mhz, 192mb RAM, 30GB HD. I was hoping to turn it on and find it had a G4 upgrade, but no such luck. The only software it has on it is Photoshop 5.5. It's currently running Mac OS 9.1, though it also came with copies of OS X 10.3 and 10.4. It also came with the original receipt which is always cool to have, adds a bit of history to a machine.

I started doing some research into what PCMCIA Wi-Fi cards will work in it to get it online, but haven't dug too deeply yet.

i've always felt this batch of Powerbooks were so beautiful. When still being sold I often looked at them in mags and wished i could afford them.

Nice! I had a Pismo back in the day (2nd hand) - was a fun machine. I recently added one to my collection too.

For WiFi you can grab a normal airport card - it fits under the keyboard (upside down, that took me a few minutes to figure out :D ). Note that Airports wont connect to some modern WiFi access points - so i have an Airport Extreme base station setup to bridge it. Also if you get an Airport Extremem base station you'll need a older computer to manage it as it had no Web interface and the current software is too new and the OS9 software is too old. Ahh the joys of retro! :)
