Been dreaming of this one for years, got a low shuttercount, mint body from Amazon Renewed.

Straight flippy screen is the key feature added to baseline requirements of full frame sensor and compatibility with my extensive prime lens collection for my early production Nikon F collection.

This is the kicker:

Copy stand perfection! I've taken some awesome macro shots using the 90mm Elmarit reversed on its lens hood taped to my bellows. That's from the full set of primes I've collected for the early sixties Leica M3 my daddy bought me for HS Graduation, my first camera.

He died about 18 months ago, leaving me his last camera, a Lumix with an incredible zoom ratio stretching from the 20mm wide I carry in my F bag out to 1200mm, six times that of the 200/f4 Nikkor that brought me from the Rangefinder world into the Nikon F fold.

He left me the money to buy what's probably my last camera. I'll likely never buy an autofocus lens for it as his Lumix appears to be the perfect knock around DSLR for my use case.

Next step, flat field Nikkor Enlarger lens for PCB documentation playtime.

New to DSLRs, can an HDMI monitor be used as a viewfinder in order to do a microscope setup on the copystand for board rework?

Getting there! Pulled the copystand down from its bat perch on the shoji screened living room HackStation shelf wall yesterday. Just ordered up an iffy macro lens for it. Not too worried about glass condition for my use case, got it mostly for the AI-Converter Ring. I can troll the bottom-o-the'Bay for a cherry non-AI example whenever the fancy strikes me. The knurling pattern is unique for ID and matches the 20/3.5 AI in my F_Bag.

Finally got the copy stand set up and the D750/Macro Lens fired up!

Cards are set up on Nylon Standoffs so traces on Solder and Component sides are on the same plane at same distance from sensor. The pics wind up in AI8 at same size, if scaled down to 25% due to lack of sufficient memory on the my son's first computer, a TiBook he gifted me.

Gotta get one of the G4s back up and running a/o max out the memory on the TiBook. OS9 forever and RentWare never!

Hoping to isolate the multitude of digital signals that are mashed together mercilessly in this mess for Mini Co-Axial output. Crossing fingers, vainly hoping that the nasty Bt9014 programmable Logic IC can be eliminated. No such critter necessary on the FPD/SE above with this pinout?

TTL Video
GND
TTL Video Inverted
GND

5V Sense line shorted to ground = Display Connected
HSync - 68.8hz
GND
VSync - 67hz
GND

That's the pinout of the Radius FPD for Mac Plus, likely the same for FPD/SE version.

So three VidCards on the benches in decreasing order of difficulty:
- TPD/SE - horrid Bt9014 44pin Programmable Logic
- FPD/Mac Plus - Middlin' nasty PLDC20G10 24pin Programmable Logic
- FPD/SE - every IC is either a readable GAL or standard 74LS Logic IC :D

Let the games begin! [grinning-face-with-o]

edit: blue traces are solder side
