If it gets above 80-90C under full load, that would be a bit on the hot side. Hard to say what's normal for a D630 since every laptop is different, but between 40-60C at idle is fairly normal I think? Click to expand...
Unfortunately, I couldn't install CoreTemp-I keep getting a "driver failed to load" error. What else can I try? Thanks for your help. :)

Well, when you partition the drive, you could create an extra one for OSX...

Nah, I already have 5 Macs using OSX (2 desktops, 3 laptops). I'll keep this one strictly Windows. [upside-down-face]

It's almost definitely the trackpoint stick. Can it be disabled in Windows device manager or the BIOS? Click to expand...

I tried, using what was available in the BIOS, but I still have that stupid cursor drift issue. :(

What are the options in BIOS under "Onboard Devices"? Otherwise boot into Windows and pull up Device Manager, and find and disable it.

Here are the pics. Nothing in the BIOS from what I can see...in Device Manager, do I disable the HID compliant mouse?

That would be the first guess, then if it doesn't stop, flip-flip and re-enable the HID compliant mouse and disable the PS/2 mouse.

Hm. Wonder if I could put a 250-gig SSD in this D630... Click to expand...
Sure. One of the D830s we have is running a 320GB SATA spinner.
