I'm an Apple guy, but I bought a VIC20 on a whim. And it works! Now what?

This one doesn't work - yet. Severely needs caps. Big bad tuna smell. Hope things aren't too corroded in there.

Congrats!

The default answer to the VIC-20 "now what?" question is the Penultimate+ cartridge. Switchable RAM expansion (3K-35K), about 70 game ROMs and a dead test. Of course if 70 games isn't enough for you, you can always get yourself an SD2IEC or similar 1540/1541 compatible SD card drive.

These Indextrons are notorious for that, hopefully it's not too late to save. They're so tightly packed inside that the capacitors have zero room to breathe, they all fry each other.

Well, I got a Penultimate+ cart for the machine, and it works great! I was also able to verify my old Atari joystick works too. Here's Choplifter running from the cart, displayed on my little Sony 4x3 8" LCD studio monitor!!
