I have a late 90s/early 2000s motherboard that has bad capacitors.
The board currently has standard Aluminium Electrolytic Capacitors. Since I have to replace them, I'd like to use equivalent modern Aluminium Polymer Capacitors instead. Is this possible? I have attached a picture of the original capacitors from the motherboard which are now bad.

Welcome!
Yes, possible to replace, just measure the diameter and height of each one to make sure you order the right ones. Then you just need the quantity and rating of each. I'd be happy to help make up a mouser or digikey basket for you. Liked by Bones558andRedsward |
