Hey Folks,
I've been reloading some more SE30 boards and have finally come across a board with some bad chips. I'm on the hunt for a UH7 replacement and found the files to program a replacment using a GAL16V8. Just wondering if anyone has tried programming with this chip from digikey: https://www.digikey.ca/en/products/detail/rochester-electronics-llc/GAL16V8A-15LVI/12133900 I tried UT source but they don't appear to have these in stock atm. I'm also on the hunt for a Sony 3430045A (UB10/11) but I don't think there is an alternative to this chip. Found some on UTSource but of course it's 8 dollars in chips 30 in shipping. So if anyone knows of an alternative I would appreciate it :) Thanks Liked by Kai Robinson |

I had an extra SE 800k that I took a 3430045A off of... they only have one of course since they're not stereo but it's there in case you have an extra SE board by chance.

Assuming this is also compatible with an XGecu T48 programmer. |

Could do for now, would still want replacements longer term but this would let me get the board sound sorted at least. Liked by Steve Rieck |

There's been considerable online discussion about programming ATF... parts with low-cost programmers. Seems to be hit or miss as to whether Atmel parts are properly handled. After some early bad experiences with cheap programmers I picked up a used Dataman 48Pro+ which covers just about any part I'd ever need to throw at it.

I found one on ebay last year. Paid around $375 USD + ship. Definitely not a casual purchase, but after 30+ years of cheaping out on programmers it was time to eliminate aggravation from my life.
I'd also say the same thing about my Hakko FR-301 vacuum desoldering tool. Worth 10x what I paid for it in terms of on the bench performance. |

Finally have some free time again and figured out what was happening!
Turns out that when I was trying to program the ATF16V8BQL there was an option to Encrypt that was checked on. When I read about the purpose of this check box it came back as
So yeah soon as I found that out I turned the stupid check box off and I was able to verify that the chip was successfully programmed :) SE30 booted right up soon as I put the freshly programmed chip on
