Hi everyone!

I picked up a Mac SE/30 yesterday and it's my first vintage Mac.

It needs a bit of work but that's why I'm here, to try and get it back to mint condition and "period correct" as much as practically possible.

Some of you may recognise this username from a little Aussie forum called MacTalk/AppleTalk that I co-founded a long time ago - may it rest in peace - but I've not really taken any interest in the vintage/early Mac stuff until lately. I think the general state of technology right now has me looking for answers in the industry's history, to see if there's anything I can learn from it. Even if I don't gain any insights, at least I've got a cute little computer :)

YEAH! And it WORKS???@!!!!

Is it re-capped yet? Going to need it if not. Lots of resources for this step are available, and it's important. Mine sat unused for years before I inherited it. It Worked the first few boots, then everything started going south (no offense to anyone down-under, of course). After a year of troubleshooting I got it back, but that was after a lot of pain, chip replacements, bodge wires, and hours after hours pouring over schematics and tone testing data lines to find broken traces.

I know you are just getting started, but take this advice seriously, and you won't regret it. It can be super rewarding to accomplish some of these tasks too. Welcome!

Nope - first thing on my list, feels like I've got a ticking time bomb here. I've got some tools coming in the mail so I can open the case and have a look around, but have some friends that will do the recapping for me as they've done it before and have the proper tools!
