Hi all,

I've got a Dell Latitude X300 laptop which is a lovely ultra-portable Windows 2000/XP box but sadly the battery has given up holding a charge. It's detected by the PC but won't ever gain a charge. Unplugging the AC resorts in sudden death.

So I'm wondering if anyone based in the UK is able to rebuild these batteries or if in doubt is there a safe way of gutting the pack but leaving it still in a state where it can clip into the laptop.

As this laptop will have a gap above the keyboard if the battery pack isn't installed.

Hopefully I've explained this well enough.

Many thanks!

Hmm - can you take some pictures of the battery pack itself? You could take a punt on: http://www.power-supplier.co.uk/notebook-batteries/Latitude-X300.htm or https://www.good-batteries.co.uk/product.php/DELL+Latitude_X300_Series+battery Click to expand...
Here's some photos of the battery pack and also what the laptop looks like without the pack installed.
