here are a couple of images I've founder the years. The first is former CEO, Gil Amelio showing various versions of the eMate. The second image is of a orange eMate. And I don't remember where I found it.

That image of Amelio and Frank Casanova (a manager in Apple's Advanced Technology Group at the time) is from my two decade old post "The Elusive Pink eMate". The image was shot by Seth Resnick and originally appeared in this August 7th, 1996 MacWeek article.

Can't remember where you found the picture? Or do you actually have an orange eMate?

What's funny is that while the final production eMates only came in green, the replacement styli (like @ScutBoy has) came in the same colors as the prototypes. I have an orange replacement stylus for mine that's the same shade as in the above photo.

I always remember seeing the orange replacement pens, but didn't realize that was the color of the prototypes.
