Need some help troubleshooting a G3 board. It's the 266MHz Beige G3/Molar Mac board. I had to steal the one from my beige desktop to get the molar working but I'd like to see if the old board can be repaired. The issue is that the system will not chime or boot. The HDD does not spin up however if I disconnect the 40 pin IDE cable while powered on it'll spin on its own. No video, no chime but can power on via the keyboard so the logic board is getting some signals.
Steps I have done so far include: Swap CPU's Swap RAM Swapped ROM Swap that little power board with the caps Known good GPU used Known good multimedia board Known good power supply Fresh PRAM battery Reset button on board Option/Apple PR at boot Any other suggestions? All the caps visually look good. Any common fixes that anyone knows? Quick Google search shows a lot of people had this issue but just replaced the board through Apple back in the day. That's no help to me obviously. Thanks all!! |

Update: liberal dose of deoxit in all the spots and several CPU reseats got it working again!
