I must however amend my previous message to say that laptops can often involve 200% of the issues... it's totally worth it, right...? guys...?

This one I'm quite happy about. Snagged it on eBay for a half reasonable price. I played tons of escape velocity, override, and nova. All accounts the game play isnt great but it's something I want to have in my games collection.

Just got a SCSI bus analyzer off eBay for a quite reasonable price. Time to capture some SCSI traffic!

That thing looks like it can launch the missiles! ...be careful to avoid taking us to DEFCON 1!

Seriously though the display makes me think of this for some reason:

Aliens Sentry Gun UI

There's a scene in the movie Aliens (1984) where the suspense was building up due to the impending fact that a large pack of extra-terrestrial man-slay...

Great deal - that will make a nice little OS9/early OSX machine!

Always so jealous of the finds/hauls you guys get in the US - I'd kill for a fraction of that! I had a Powerbook 180C, but i donated it to RMC. I want to get another one though, but they're hard to find and half the time, broken screens and shattered case plastics... Click to expand...
Same. Having very little luck here in the UK.

queen-bee.honeycomb.net? Looks like it may have been at this company in the past: https://www.honeycomb.net/

At least you have the key! My EVT "ESB" prototype ANS had to be forcibly opened.

I'm sure it will be epic once you get the LCD back in the right position ;) How much RAM does it say is installed?

That said, it seems like the hard disk is shot or erased. While you can run NetBSD on it, it really ought to run the original AIX. Plus, you can do tricks like https://oldvcr.blogspot.com/2023/11/the-apple-network-servers-all-too.html with it.

I wouldn't trust the DAT though. They're flaky even when in good condition.

Local pickup for $50 - Logic board is bombed - I have a spare CC board I might try just to see if the analog board works, de-mystic I guess :D Too bad the tuner is pretty much locked into the motherboard - to get "TV" back I'd have to find a non-bombed MacTV board or a PDS tuner.

Hey, you got the case. That's the hardest part of restoring a Mac TV ...

And black keyboard. Also hard to find. Sucks about the logic board, but there are some good alternatives that just lose you the tuner capabilities

Nice score! One of my favorites. Embarrassingly, I've paid much more than that just for a black keyboard, so I'd say it's a bargain even with the logic board exploded. An LC550 board in there would be a great speed boost and wouldn't require modification to the back panel (to my knowledge). Somehow the tabs always seem to survive on these black machines vs. their beige counterparts.
