I'm a bit stumped with this one. Got my hands on a lovely eMate 300, hinges are ok, rom in place, chimes and that's it.
I am able to hard reset it, erase everything and restore defaults but the behaviour ends up the same, orange led, chime and blank screen. I've disconnected the battery at some point to see if would make any difference but nope. Any ideas what could be wrong? |

So, just to clarify ... are you seeing something on the screen when you do the hard reset? There should be a confirmation dialog.
Do you see a startup screen after the chime? Or is it blank through the entire boot cycle? |

Nevermind ... I was having trouble viewing the movie of the boot sequence.
I see what's going on now. Do you know if the eMate has a memory upgrade installed? If it does, you might try removing that. |

Apparently the problem was the power supply, connected to my bench power supply it works fine.
