March 2, 2024 Board Meeting

Item 1:

Governance Documents


Action Items:

• Androda to recompile all the notes and edits from Board collaboration into a single document for final commentary
• The Board will review and attempt to finalize this document by the 15th

Item 2:

Livestream

Notes:

• Similar to last year, talking through cool projects and can be a Board Q&A

Action Items:

• Bruce will announce the upcoming Board livestream

Item 3:

Feedback / Suggestions

Notes:

• Overall we are very hesitant to add new subforums / forum nodes, there has been feedback that we already have too many
• On the discussion about policy changes, there is concern about falling into a loop with new categories needing to be added often
• We already have an overall policy to try and "be excellent to each other", with Moderators and Board members here to respond to anyone that potentially feels they are being discriminated against or abused in any way
• On "name and shame" it's unfortunately legally dangerous for us as a forum to offer a section specifically for that, as the forum itself can become liable
  • There are concerns about "doxxing", defamation, libel, etc
• Tinker Different Trading Post Guidelines states "However, if you do have a bad trading experience with a fellow user on here though, please do let us know"
  • Reports of fraud or scamming will be taken seriously and brought to the full Board for consideration up to and including a permanent ban

Death of forum member(s)

Notes:

• How to properly maintain an account which belongs to a forum member that has passed away?
